A conversation with Emily in facebook just before leaving, and then the conversation we had as I made my way home on the plane ( I didn't get the chance to chat with her while in Kenya).
- These words say how I felt about the experience when I came home.

I can't wait till I can come home having had the time of my life. Seriously, Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, like those above. Means so much!
...I'll let you get back to things now, I'm sure you have tons going on. I'll drop you a line every now and then if I can.
Emily
you are so very welcome. I wish that EVERYONE could come travel through developing countries at some point
it will change your perspective on everything and you will fall in love

I think I was born that kind of girl - I'm a family mom everyday, and I love it, but I've got a helping / human family heart for the whole world. Glad to be doing something with it this week! I'll probably cry for joy at some point
Gotta go, enjoy your day!

I'm on my first day back home and wanted to tell you that I had the time of my life in Kenya! So did my son. Completely life changing! I'm having a bit of an identity crisis today but I think that is part of coming back.
Emily
its pretty much what everyone says who comes to visit here
Christin Francom Shumway
Yes and I thought of what you said many times about frustrations and then paradise, you nailed it
Emily
it is something else here. and i love it
Christin Francom Shumway
You're so lucky to be able to stay every day in paradise. It was so very hard to leave!
They say that those who have the experience of dying and then coming back, have a hard time wanting to come back, even with their families here, because heaven is SO wonderful. I felt that way. I missed my family a ton, but my heart really wanted to stay too
Emily
you should just get the whole family to move here

Emily
so are you that soldier who experiences the local world?

SOME THINGS THAT KENYA SEEDS HAS TAUGHT ME:
- 1. BELIEVE IN MIRACLES
- 2. MIRACLES DON'T ALWAYS HAPPEN OVERNIGHT.... OR OVER A WEEK... OR OVER A MONTH. ONLY IN THE LORDS TIME
- 3. YOU ARE NOTHING, THE SPIRIT IS WISE, AND GOD IS GREAT. (so do things accordingly).
- 4. AT THE SAME TIME, GREAT ARE THE WORTH OF SOULS. -AND WORTH EVERY EFFORT-.
- 5. DOUBT NOT= FEAR NOT.
- 6. THINGS OF GOD HAVE A PATTERN: BEAUTY/OPPOSITION/BEAUTY/OPPOSITION. When you're in "opposition", the beauty is soon to come.
- 8. STAND BACK AND LOOK CAREFULLY FOR THE LORDS' HAND IN YOUR LIFE, AND YOU WILL FIND IT
- 9. THE MORE YOU MUST RELY ON GOD, THE MORE READILY YOU WILL RELY UPON HIM. BUT WHEN LIFE IS GOING WELL, REMEMBER TO RELY ON HIM ANYWAY. YOU'RE GOING TO NEED HIM.
- 10. I HAVE A REALLY GREAT HUSBAND. REALLY GREAT!
