Our family chalkboard that week |
My children welcomed us when we stepped into the house, with a banner and big smiles and hugs.
But I was still living in Africa. My body was home, but it took days for my spirit to arrive.
Two days later, Brad was called by a friend in our ward who offered him a job. Though a joyful thing, it wasn't even a surprise to us because we knew that it would happen, after all of the other things that had come about.
My friends from Kenya messaged me regularly, ready to stay engaged and follow through with what had started there in the bush.
- Lawrence was ready to go, just waiting for the signal to go visit the people in the bush.
- Fredrick said hello often, and his family also sent their greetings, and he sent messages of faith and encouragement, praying for the Lord to bless the work.
- Victor called me just to say hello, and wished a hello to Dallin and my family from him and his family.
- Kiaruuh and Kilonzi (his brother) message me regularly, giving me status updates which I will be posting on this blog as they come and things develop.
- Kioko, (who had let Kiaruuh use his phone when Kiaruuh had felt God tell him to keep chatting), invited to me be facebook friend and said that he had dearly wanted to meet us while we were there, but couldn't arrange it, and so wanted to begin to talk about faith in facebook.
- Barrak, a friend at Kiaruuh's graduation, wanted to also discuss things of God with me, continuing a conversation that we had started in Garissa, before I had to leave for the bush.
Many things have transpired since our return from Kenya, and the message is growing in magnitude and interest both in their church in Kenya and here in my area and in the LDS church.
